The Children’s Cancer Center and Multipurpose Infusion Center is designed for kids, teens and young adults to receive infusion therapy comfortably. It features:
- Four infusion bays, each with a gaming system-equipped TV to help pass the time and ease treatment anxiety
- A central play area for kids
- Two negative pressure/isolation infusion rooms for children who have a weakened immune system or can’t be exposed to an open infusion bay environment
- Four exam rooms
- A room where procedures, like lumbar punctures, can be performed for the patient’s and parents’ convenience
- A dedicated family resource room offering storage lockers, educational materials and computers
- A teen game room with an infusion chair and a gaming system geared toward teens or young adults
- A painted column and lighting installation – Tree of Life – created by the nonprofit organization Splashes of Hope
