What an exciting time! Visitors as well as locals have a huge array of events to choose from to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country this spring and summer.

With celebrations and activities spanning the entire region, you’ll be entertained by everything from a world-class soccer match and America-oriented exhibitions in Philadelphia, to “star-spangled” fireworks and American independence in art in the Lehigh Valley. And much more.

While it’s fun to party like it’s 1776, if something happens it’s reassuring to know you can get the care you need in 2026.

“We value our patients and communities and want to make sure everyone can access care – even when they’re out and about,” says Judd Hollander, MD, Professor of Emergency Medicine, Senior Vice President and Chief, Virtual Care Officer, Jefferson Health. “We have designed our care delivery services to fit almost every scenario, based on type of condition, location and urgency.”

Urgent care: save your spot or walk in

When you need to see a doctor in person, we offer:

Our urgent care centers are open seven days a week. Walk-ins are welcome and our Save My Spot feature lets you select an appointment time. Check wait times on our location pages.

Virtual visits: if you’re not sure

In some cases, you may not know what kind of health issue you’re dealing with. Our virtual options can help you get the information you need. They include:

The best service for minor on-the-spot accidents or illnesses is JeffConnect, which offers 24/7 on-demand video visits. It allows you to “meet” with an urgent care clinician without a trip to the office, no matter where you are in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Delaware. These visits are for non-emergency conditions, such as colds, flu, cough, fever, urinary tract symptoms, infections and minor injuries. JeffConnect clinicians can also point you in the right direction for further care if something is more emergent.

To use JeffConnect, just sign in to your existing account or register for a new one and request an appointment. After completing basic information, within minutes you will have a video visit with an urgent care clinician who can assess your illness or injury and provide medical advice or prescribe medication, if needed.

An after-visit summary of your virtual healthcare visit will be emailed to you as well as be posted in your MyJeffersonHealth account. (If you don’t already have a MyJeffersonHealth account, the JeffConnect clinician can help facilitate opening one, although you don’t need to establish one if you prefer not to.)

If you need language translation services, your clinician can initiate this for you.
