About

Philosophy of care

My approach to neurosurgery is focused on education, advocacy and patient-centric care. Navigating the health care system can be daunting for patients, especially when sick and vulnerable. I educate you not only on your disease process and treatment options, but also about what you can expect during each stage of treatment. I am trained in both open cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery, allowing me to explore novel techniques to best serve each patient. Sometimes treatment requires open surgery or an endovascular procedure. Other times, the best course of action is non-surgical follow-up.

Why I entered medicine

As a child I was always curious about why people became sick and how they got better. Medicine was a natural choice for me to pursue my passion for understanding human anatomy and physiology while providing a service to better my community.

Community involvement

Growing the cerebrovascular program at LVHN will require us to open ourselves to our large community of primary care clinicians and other referring specialists. It requires outreach to patients, physicians and all other allied health professionals to understand what services we can provide and what we as a community can do to better our overall health. I and my colleagues will help increase awareness and advocacy for stroke and other vascular diseases such as brain aneurysms, AVMs, cavernomas and carotid artery disease. Education is the foundation for building a stronger, healthier community and inspiring the next generation to take us even further.

Personal interests

I enjoy time with my wife and son, traveling, cooking and trying new food and restaurants. I’m an avid tennis fan and hope to attend all the grand slam events at some point with my family.
