About

Philosophy of care

I apply a patient-centered approach, focusing on your unique background when developing a medical care plan. I also am passionate about patient education to empower you with knowledge about your medical diagnosis and lessen any concerns you may have about its impact on your life. I work closely with all my patients to help them maximize their function and quality of life.

Why I entered medicine

I was born in Afghanistan and saw firsthand the health disparities that plague developing countries. These experiences motivated me to pursue a career of service; being a physician allows me to offer assistance and empathy to people during their most difficult times. I cannot think of any better cause to dedicate my time to.

Community involvement

I have dedicated time to charities focused on the health and education of underprivileged children both in the U.S. and abroad. They include UNICEF, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, Sportable and many more. I have participated in mentoring, tutoring and even coaching soccer for children from various socioeconomic backgrounds and children with disabilities.

Personal interests

When not at work, I enjoy hiking and playing soccer.
