About

Philosophy of care

I pursued a career in medicine partly because of the relationships we develop with our patients; it's what makes medicine unique. Knowing our patients allows us to provide the best care possible while respecting their beliefs. The medical advancements we achieve through research excites me; however, I remain a firm proponent of fundamentals. I place great importance on primary care and practices that maintain good health because these cannot be replaced.

Why I entered medicine

I became passionate about science at a young age. During high school and college, I became involved in biomedical research. Later I transitioned to clinical research, and it opened my eyes to the way scientific discoveries become new medications and therapies. I also grew to appreciate the relationships we can form with our patients.

Community involvement

I enjoy staying involved with educating internal medical residents and students, finding it one of the best ways to influence the next generation of physicians.

Personal interests

I like traveling, cooking, staying active and following soccer. I am an avid Michigan football fan after growing up in Ann Arbor and attending the university. Most of all, I enjoy time with my wife and daughter.
