Philosophy of care

My philosophy is providing unconditionally compassionate care. I believe your wishes as a patient come first, and you should be considered a partner in your own care. It is vital to keep patients well informed and well educated before making a decision regarding health. Additionally, I understand that staying current on new treatments and techniques, and remaining a lifelong learner, all are necessary for me to remain a competent provider.

Why I entered medicine

My passion for health care and nursing traces back to high school. Being raised in a very traditional Thai household, I had the responsibility of caring for my sick grandmother. She had chronic illnesses and was in and out of the hospital. My junior year she was admitted for more than a month, and I was truly immersed in a hospital environment. I became fascinated with the medical field as I closely observed the medical team, especially the nurses. Their selflessness, compassion and empathy touched my heart, making me want to provide the same quality of care to every one of my patients. After college I was hired as an RN in the cardiac intensive care unit, and now am pursuing the role of adult acute care nurse practitioner.

Personal interests

In my free time I enjoy traveling, music, snowboarding and biking.
