The Transitional Medicine Residency provides multiple didactic conferences for information mastery. Because of the many facets and variety of the conferences, you’ll gain an interesting and diverse experience that complements your clinical training at Lehigh Valley Health Network.
The didactic conferences are scheduled every day from noon to 1 p.m. and on Wednesdays from noon to 3 p.m. (protected education time). These conferences include the following broad range of presentations: Core subspecialty lectures (annual lecture series), resident presentations, medical grand rounds, resident report, journal club, resident development seminars, board review, morbidity and mortality conference and many subspecialty and special lectures.
There also is a supplemental ambulatory didactic series scheduled weekly for when the transitional residents are on their ambulatory block. This session occurs at Lehigh Valley Hospital–17th Street on Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and consists of a three-year rotating cycle of common ambulatory topics. Given the scheduling format for the categorical residents, this session is available for transitional year residents once during their ambulatory block.
