To Our Friends and Neighbors,
In the wake of the recent fire on the campus of Lehigh Valley Hospital at Dickson City, we have been reminded of something powerful — our community is stronger than any fire.
Because of the swift, heroic actions of local first responders and the unwavering dedication of our colleagues, every patient, visitor and team member was safely evacuated. Their courage and calm under pressure protected what matters most — the people we serve and the people who serve alongside us.
To each of you, we extend our deepest gratitude.
We are humbled by the outpouring of support from the community. Your messages and kindness have lifted our spirits and strengthened our resolve. This community has always stood together in times of challenge, and this moment has shown once again how deeply we care for one another.
As we move forward, please know this – your care is not on pause.
Our teams are working to minimize any disruption and to make sure every patient continues to receive the high-quality care they deserve. Restoring services safely and swiftly is our top priority, and reopening our Emergency Room remains among our highest commitments, because we know how essential it is to the health and safety of this region.
In spite of the fire, we will emerge even stronger. We will never forget the heroes — colleagues, first responders and community members — whose actions ensured the safety of every patient and reinforced the resilience of this community.
Thank you for standing with us,
Your Jefferson Health Team
