The Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) Nutrition Services outpatient team consists of registered and licensed dietitians who will work with you to address your specific nutrition needs.

Nutrition Services for Diabetes Care

If you have diabetes, there are new ways to help you take care of yourself. The team can answer your questions, address your concerns and connect you with our outpatient diabetes programs.

All dietitians at the Helwig Health and Diabetes Center are certified diabetes educators specialty trained to provide individualized medical nutrition therapy and diabetes self-management classes available at most LVHN locations at a variety of times to meet your needs. Through Helwig you will understand the evolving diabetes management strategies with goal-setting, including:

  • Stress management
  • Heart health
  • Exercise and wellness
  • Basic nutrition
  • Healthy meal and snack planning
  • Food labels

Helwig Health and Diabetes Center
Education classes and individualized nutrition therapy are available for all medical conditions in adults and children.

Both Medicare (Part B) medical nutrition therapy for diabetes and/or non-dialysis kidney disease and diabetes self-management education programs are available by certified diabetic educator-registered dietitians. Coverage varies for these services; please contact your insurance provider.
