Philosophy of care

My goal as a physician is to provide you with current, evidence-based diagnosis and treatment. The physician-patient relationship is a partnership with a focus on patient autonomy and respect. Patient education allows each individual to make well-informed decisions regarding optimal care.

Why I entered medicine

Prior to medicine, I worked as an athletic trainer, caring for individuals with a variety of activity levels and musculoskeletal conditions. During that time, I had a team physician, an expert in sports medicine, who saw great potential in me and strongly encouraged me to consider a career in medicine, saying it would allow me to care for my patients with greater depth and skill. That and my passion for learning motivated me to enroll in medical school.

Community involvement

I have enjoyed being the team physician for multiple schools and sports teams, from middle school to professional. This has been an important area of community outreach supporting sport and recreational activity.

Personal interests

As a former ultra-marathon runner I still enjoy trail and road running. I also have a green thumb for vegetable gardening and often cook healthy meals using home-grown produce. My wife and I enjoy hiking and walking with our dog and are looking forward to getting back into skiing.
