About
Philosophy of care
The best care happens when a patient feels genuinely heard, not just examined. I try to bring that into every appointment. I want to understand not just what is going on medically, but what it has been like for you to live with it, what has and hasn't worked, and what matters most to you as we figure out a path forward together. Gastroenterology lets me care for patients across the spectrum of their illness, from outpatient visits to complex hospitalizations, and I find real meaning in those relationships. When you come to me, I'm not just treating a condition, I'm treating a person.
Why I entered medicine
I have watched the people I love navigate the healthcare system, and what struck me early on was how much that experience depended on the people providing the care. A good doctor could make something terrifying feel manageable. I wanted to be that person for someone else. Medicine felt like the right way to do it because it sits at the intersection of science and human connection unlike anything else. You get to solve problems, but the problems involve real people going through some of the hardest moments of their lives. That combination continues to drive me.
