Sickness and injuries are an unfortunate part of life. Thankfully, Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) offers ExpressCARE for those times when you need to see a doctor for non-urgent medical issues. ExpressCARE is tailored to treat minor illnesses and injuries quickly so you can get back to your busy life.

“ExpressCARE is a great option, especially this time of year when colds and other minor illnesses are more common. You will get the same high-quality care you have come to expect from LVHN, without a need for an appointment,” says physician assistant Mark Prezioso, PA-C, with ExpressCARE.

When should I go to LVHN ExpressCARE?

ExpressCARE is a convenient option if you need walk-in care for non-urgent medical issues. However, ExpressCARE is not meant for emergencies. If you or a loved one experiences a serious or life-threatening medical condition, please go to an emergency department.

Some of the conditions and illnesses the ExpressCARE team can treat include:

  • Allergies
  • Bronchitis
  • Coughcold and sore throat
  • Fever, flu or flu shot
  • Nausea
  • Sinus pain and congestion
  • Minor wounds
  • Sprains and strains
  • Ear pain
  • Eye swelling or irritation
  • Rashes

If you have respiratory virus symptoms, suspected or confirmed COVID-19, you will need to wear a mask.

ExpressCARE locations also offer no-appointment COVID-19 vaccinations, so you can easily receive the newest COVID vaccine.

How can I be seen at ExpressCARE?

ExpressCARE offers several options to ensure you don’t have to wait too long to receive care. Start by visiting LVHN.org/ExpressCARE and selecting the ExpressCARE location nearest you, then you can:

See wait times online: Wait times are based on the average wait over the last hour unless the practice just opened for the day. Everyone’s wait time begins at check-in and ends when they are seen by a clinician. You also can view the number of people ahead of you.

Save an appointment slot: To be seen by a clinician as quickly as possible, we recommend using the “Save My Spot” feature. Choose the location where you would like to be seen and then select the blue “Save My Spot” button underneath the location name. You will be able to pick a time and fill out the required form through the website or your MyLVHN account.

Get virtual care: ExpressCARE Video Visits also are available through MyLVHN to patients age 3 and older. You can see a clinician from the privacy of your phone, computer or tablet. Due to legal reasons, LVHN clinicians cannot consult with you if you are located outside of Pennsylvania.

An ExpressCARE Video Visit is perfect for those times when you can’t make it to an office, or you have respiratory virus symptoms that may be contagious. You will need a MyLVHN account to use the Video Visit service. You can create an account and get step-by-step instructions on how to do a video visit at LVHN.org/mylvhn or you can download the free app from Apple App Store or Google Play.
