Many trips to the ER include a standard series of events – things like registration, triage, waiting for a room, observation and discharge. MyChart Bedside walks you through these steps, lets you know where you are in the process and gives you an idea of what you can expect next.
In addition, it introduces you to your care team, letting you know who they are and the role they play in your care. MyChart Bedside lists medications administered during your visit and provides more information on your diagnosis when one is available.
If you choose to, you can share your MyChart Bedside information with a family member or other close friend so they can also see in real time where you are in the process.
At the conclusion of your visit, MyChart Bedside gives you a full overview of your visit including the next steps in your care – whether that be a transfer, admittance to the hospital or discharge. This overview is helpful when seeking follow-up care.
Our colleagues at the front desk in the ER can help you access the MyChart Beside feature if you need help.
