About Dr. Combs
Philosophy of care
I consider myself an educator. It’s my responsibility to educate patients about the medical problem they’re facing. It’s also my responsibility to educate people about how to prevent medical conditions and remain healthy.
Why I entered medicine
When I was 12 years old, my grandmother slipped on the ice on Thanksgiving and broke her hip. The family doctor came to the house, cared for her and made arrangements for her to have hip surgery. After surgery, her doctor called to tell us that she had a heart attack and passed away. That’s when I said to myself, “If I could do something to prevent another family from receiving a phone call like that, I will have done something with my life.”
Personal interests
I enjoy the outdoors – hiking, camping and canoeing.
