About

Philosophy of care

My goal is to empower patients and their families by explaining their disease and treatment options so they understand the illnesses that have affected their lives and can make informed decisions about their care and path forward.

Why I entered medicine

I find the body’s hematologic and immune systems to be awe-inspiring. I went into medicine to learn more about how they balance infection prevention and cancer detection while minimizing the damage to healthy cells and organs. A deep understanding of how such systems work helps us anticipate the ways they malfunction and how to fix them.

Community involvement

I would like to expand the bone marrow donor registry, especially among underrepresented demographics and ethnicities. Too many people are unable to find a match or suffer from complications caused by suboptimal matches.

Personal interests

I enjoy tending my terrariums, gardening and reading (especially science fiction and fantasy novels). I also enjoy time with my family and snuggling our beautiful (but brainless) orange tabby cat.
