Every patient is different. No two patients are alike. I talk to each person differently and address their concerns very differently. People have fear of cancer because it is fear of the unknown. If I can answer people’s basic questions, it does away with a lot of fear and puts people at ease when it comes to cancer treatment.
People have very low expectations when they receive a cancer diagnosis. They think it’s a death sentence, but that’s not the case anymore. I became a radiation oncologist because people underestimate how effective the treatment can be. It brings a smile to their face when they see the before-and-after pictures following treatment. That’s priceless.
