About

Philosophy of care

My philosophy is rooted in compassion, active listening and meeting patients where they are. I approach each interaction with empathy and attentiveness, treating you with the dignity and respect you deserve. I deliver holistic care – especially for women and families – by focusing on prevention, education and cultural understanding. Growing up in the U.S. and living in multiple other countries taught me that love, presence and human connection are as vital as medical expertise. Patients often share the keys to their healing if we give them the space to be heard. This patient-centered approach is the heart of my clinical practice.

Why I entered medicine

My medical calling began in childhood and solidified during a visit to post-war Sierra Leone, where I witnessed the devastating effects of poverty and limited health care. The suffering I saw left a lasting imprint on me, and I knew I wanted to serve vulnerable populations and make a difference in people’s lives.

Community involvement

Service to others has always been a core value. Early on, I worked as a live-in caregiver for the elderly, supporting patients’ daily needs and offering companionship. While studying in Costa Rica, I helped teach an English class to locals. During residency, I returned to Sierra Leone for global health work, providing care and outreach in underserved areas.

Personal interests

I enjoy traveling and exploring cultures. Interior decorating and aesthetics are creative passions; I find joy in curating beautiful, peaceful spaces. Writing offers an outlet for reflection and self-expression, whether through journaling or community-focused projects. Church keeps me grounded through faith and fellowship. I also prioritize regular exercise to maintain physical health and support my overall well-being.
