About

Philosophy of care

As a primary care physician, I listen and work to understand patient stories. Every visit is an opportunity for me to learn more about you, determine your values and work together to reach your goals. I want patients to feel comfortable bringing up their concerns, stressors, victories, life updates and future goals. The information helps me help you feel best in your body physically and mentally. I see my role as a partner.

Why I entered medicine

As long as I can remember, I have been interested in science and how the human body works. As a former competitive gymnast and coach, I fell in love with teaching and empowering others. Medicine has allowed me to combine my love for science and my passion for teaching by guiding patients through the healthcare system. In my medical training, I knew I wanted to treat a variety of conditions, develop long-term relationships with patients and promote preventive care. I became a family physician.

Community involvement

Most of my volunteer work has focused on helping mentor students from elementary to medical school ages. During residency, I also served as a clinician for a medical practicum in rural Guatemala, combining my love for medicine, travel and learning more about the world.

Personal interests

I enjoy time with my husband, family, friends and my two dogs. I enjoy traveling, reading, hiking and trying new food/restaurants.
