About

Philosophy of care

I treat everyone the same despite age, race or socioeconomic status. I strive to actively listen to each patient, identify where education is needed, and help the patient become accountable for his or her own health.

Why I entered medicine

I entered nursing because I wanted to educate people on how to become healthier. I have experience teaching personal wellness courses in higher education and realized that I wanted to reach out to people of all ages and races to teach them to become healthier. I became a nurse practitioner because I was ready to take on more responsibility in caring for my patients.

Community involvement

I support the Parkinson Research Foundation.

Personal interests

I have experience working with Division I athletes as an athletic trainer at several universities and have developed a particular interest in orthopedics. I enjoy watching sporting events, especially college football. I enjoy weight-lifting and exercising regularly, including walking, biking and practicing yoga. I believe the mind and body connection is stronger than people think. If a person is mentally healthy, he or she feels better physically. I am married and have two daughters.
